Miss West End Girl & Miss DixieBelle Glasgow

image(61)Sometimes an idea can come along when you least expect it. And often, it’s not too long before the idea grows into something real! Towards the end of last year, I was contacted by the glamourpusses of Miss Dixiebelle to see if I would be interested in a collaboration project as part of their brand expansion from Edinburgh to Glasgow. You may remember the fabulous retro makeover I was given by stylists Casci and Fiona from Miss DixieBelle and a lot of you will already be aware of the brand as Scotland’s only vintage beauty parlour.

If you’ve been reading some of my previous posts or tweets lately, you will have probably noticed me mentioning a new project that I will be working on this year. Today, I’m letting the cat out of the bag!

Miss DixieBelle are already a firm favourite with bombshell babes far and wide (I remember trying to get a salon appointment with them during this year’s Vintage Festival was fiercer that the Boxing Day sales!) and it was only a matter of time before they trotted up to our fair city with some cute vintage luggage, ready to set up camp.

On a mission to bring their sassy brand of bygone glamour to the ladies of Glasgow, the Miss DixieBelle girls got in touch with me to help make it happen. How could I say no?! We bonded and brainstormed over coffee and soon came up with something bigger and more exciting that we just can’t wait to get started on!

Definitely coming to the event. I trek to Edinburgh and even to London for a decent retro do. will be great to have things closer to home. I was a fiend at the Merchant City vintage fair and managed to blag a couple of appointments, so everyday my hair was coiffed and make up done. Brilliant!
