Lipstick, Laughter and Launching – Miss DixieBelle Loves Glasgow

g
A few weeks ago I was excited to share a fantastic new project with you all in the shape of Miss DixieBelle Loves Glasgow. Before we knew it, launch night arrived on Thursday and we couldn’t wait to get started and bring a little slice of vintage glamour to the girls of Glasgow! aWhen we were planning our launch, we just knew Miss Lottie Lou’s in the West End was the PERFECT venue – and when we were setting up it became even more clear. Owner Charlotte was an absolute sweetheart on the night and we were thrilled to share her adorable boutique with the ladies attending. With treat bags and cupcakes at the ready,  hair freshly coiffed and heart-shaped banners hanging, we were ready to fling open the doors and welcome the eager line of ladies that had already formed outside.cIt wasn’t long before every seat was taken and it was standing room only at the back! We were beyond happy to see so many Glasgow girls had chosen to spend their Thursday night with us. Looking out at them, all smiling and sipping bubbly from vintage teacups, we were ready to begin!d

lI kicked off the evening by welcoming everyone and explaining a bit about Miss DixieBelle Loves Glasgow, and the plans we had hatched for the coming months. I may also have confessed to having full hair and make-up done while wearing my pyjamas! Oh, the glamour! eIt was then time for the babe-in’ Miss DixieBelle Glasgow stylists Casci and Fiona to work their magic! The girls took everyone through a detailed tutorial on pin curls (making it look as easy as pie!) and a history of the red lip. They shared their own top tips and tricks and gave a demo on how to achieve the perfect scarlet pout – complete with a willing participant from the audience! jWith giggling, fun facts, personal experiences and questions-a-plenty, the class was the perfect relaxed atmosphere to learn a little more about retro glamour and have some fun at the same time. hThere was lots of time for mingling later on, and to meet the stylists and Miss DixieBelle owner Emma for a chat. “I can’t wait to book for my wedding!” squealed one girl excitedly. Others told me they were excited for our next event and want to perfect their own Marilyn look. Yay! We also held a prize draw for a free Miss DixieBelle makeover – well done to lucky Natalie! f

kWe wrapped up the night and couldn’t stop smiling. We were overwhelmed with the number of girls that came out, and those who supported us from afar on Twitter and their own websites. The feedback we’ve had so far has been amazing. Thank you – you are awesome! We can’t wait to get started on the next event!

With glamour, gratitude and giddyness,

Miss West End Girl x
